We are 3 generations, mother, daughter, and 2 granddaughters, all showing Paint Horses together!

My daughter, Stephanie, and I began showing Paint horses together about 1982. As a youth, Stephanie earned  points on several horses. One of her favorites was Casas April Daisy (April), who is still with us today. They earned a Superior in Youth Western Pleasure together, in addition to points in several other events. (Yes, that is her real tail in the photo!) April is 24 years old now and had her last foal, Ima Frostee Diva, in 2005.

We stopped showing about 1992 when Stephanie took a few years off to go to college & get her LPN license, marry, and have 3 children. Then the show bug hit her again, and in 2004 she bought a tobiano Paint mare, Totally Cool. Her oldest daughter Brittney decided she wanted to learn to ride and show, thus we were once again in the show ring. To learn the ropes, Brittney began getting her initial riding and show experience with none other than her mothers favorite mare, the then 20 year old April. Since then we have added several more horses in addition to replacing all of the show equipment we had previously sold! In 2007 Steph's youngest daughter Chloe decided she was interested in showing too! Leadline, here she comes!

2007 brought us some super highs and a heartbreaking low. Brittney & her horse Sheza Stylin Too earned several ROMs this year, and at their first Congress, came home with a Top Ten in 13 & Under Youth Western Pleasure. They also earned several NPHC High Point awards. Chloe's first year of showing earned her & Sheza Stylin Too the honor of NPHC High Point in Leadline. Susan & her horse Stylish Me earned their Superiors in both Open and Amateur Halter along with several NPHC High Point awards. Steph & No Boys Allowed earned their ROM in Amateur Halter together and NPHC High Point Two Year Old Filly in only a few shows. Tragically, No Boys Allowed was killed when she was struck by lightening on September 30th. She was a super sweet filly with lots of personality, and we miss her very much.

2008 has started off with a bang! The first Nebraska Paint Horse Club show in Fremont was fun and a first for Steph's filly, Martini With A Rap (Gabby) - they earned their first Open and Amateur Halter points! However, Steph has decided to get Gabby broke and hopefully ready for the Western Pleasure futurities this fall, so she's not sure at this point if she will continue showing her in halter this year. Brittney and Sheza Stylin Too also earned their first Youth Trail points together, so they are now well on their way towards their APHA Youth Championship!  And one more first - Susan's filly, Sheza Obvious Imprint, has earned her first Open and Amateur Halter points with Steph showing her. So far, 2008 is shaping up to be a great year!

So here we are, the 4 of us, showing Paints and enjoying our time together.

Watch for us in a show ring near you!
